Bearzatti's award-winning work is a concept album dedicated to African American leader Malcolm X.
“X (Suite For Malcolm),” produced by Parco della Musica Records, is a work by Francesco Bearzatti written for his Tinissima Quartet. Multi-awarded in 2010 as Record of the Year Jazz Music, Best Italian Album and Best Graphic Album at the Jazz It Award readers section, is a concept album dedicated to the African-American leader Malcolm X. A kaleidoscope of ideas and accents, constantly shifting from more lyrical and collected atmospheres to more rock, dance, and hip hop sounds, composed and arranged to enhance the expressive possibilities of four of the most inspired and versatile jazz musicians on the international scene. “Malcolm X Suite” is a tribute to the man whose action and thought helped to effect a radical change in the relationship between white and black citizens in the United States. A tribute to his message of freedom and dignity.
