“Due come noi che…,” the album by Gino Paoli and Danilo Rea released by Parco della Musica Records, is a valuable example of how two absolute artists can innovatively interpret some classics of Italian music history. Just piano and voice, just Danilo and Gino, just their ability to chase each other, to untangle and find each other on a road that is that of the most beautiful songs of our heritage. The most beloved songs of Gino, from “Averti addosso” to “Il cielo in una stanza,” from “Vivere ancora” to “Perduti” via “La gatta” and “Come si fa,” along with goodies from Genoese singer-songwriters, which for Gino ‘s lifelong friends are “Canzone dell’amore perduto” and “Bocca di rosa” (instrumental) by De André, “Il nostro concerto” by Umberto Bindi, “Vedrai Vedrai” by Tenco and “Se tu sapessi” by Bruno Lauzi. Also on the tracklist are “Non andare via” Italian translation of the wonderful “Ne Me Quitte Pas,” which Jacques Brel himself asked Paoli to translate, and “Albergo a ore,” the moving song by Herbert Pagani.
