Parco della Musica Records continues to offer original projects by encouraging unprecedented collaborations among the most talented Italian jazz musicians. Three masters of their instrument, Gianluca Petrella, Paolino Dalla Porta and Fabrizio Sferra, meet in the album “The Turkish Bath.” The record, born as a free improvisation, exchange, play between the three artists, summarizes their meeting in 10 tracks. The three musicians entered the recording studio with no clear idea of what to record; all they had to do was touch their instruments for the music to start flowing unstoppably. The album’s title track came about during a break between sessions in which Sferra played with the marimba, pulling out an oriental-sounding bass line and suggesting that the others improvise on it.
