Home Productions The fairy tree
Giovanni Falzone ‘s new record for Parco della Musica Records, “The Fairy Tree,” was born with the desire to pay homage, through a series of original compositions written by the artist for the occasion, to one of the most classic formations ever: the quartet. The choice of this type of formation stems from a desire to explore, after a period of investigation around electric sounds, the potential of acoustic sound in all its facets. Using this type of ensemble, historically understood as the most “classical” of formations, was a very stimulating starting point for architecting a work of compositional research, where Falzone sought to blend jazz music with all the forms of writing and improvisation that took place during the 20th century. The compositions are characterized by a strong rhythmic and melodic component, through which the Quartet moves the entire sound framework. Careful musicians of great sensitivity are part of this project, with whom Falzone immediately establishes a relationship of complicity and musical understanding thanks to their ability to move in different creative areas.
