Javier Girotto records with the Atem saxophone quartet a record of compositions rich in compositional imagination and forays into the most varied musical genres.
New work by Javier Girotto for Parco della Musica Records. After recording together with the Parco della Musica Jazz Orchestra, “Argentina Escenas en Big Band,” a record of big band arrangements of his compositions, Girotto presents us with “SUIX,” recorded together with theAtem Saxophon Quartet: original compositions taken from the historic “Aires Tango” band and new compositions arranged for the Atem Sax Quartet. The saxophone quartet, an ensemble that is chamber in nature, combines perfectly with Javier Girotto‘s soprano and baritone saxophones, Andean flutes and other instruments, succeeding in blending folk rhythms, tango, classical, contemporary and jazz music to reinvigorate the Argentine’s compositional imagination.
