Recorded in the studios of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone on March 13 and 14, 2011, “Passport” witnesses the meeting of four distinct and volcanic jazz musicians from four different countries-Spain, England, Italy and the United States. The name of the group was coined by U.S. drummer Joe Chambers on a tour of Italy together with Italian saxophonist Peter Tonolo, to Spanish drummer and pianist Jorge Rossy and to the French smuggler Arnie Somogyi “Passport” refers back to the idea of jazz as music without borders, universal, the most democratic musical form that offers any individual anywhere in the world the opportunity to express themselves in freedom.
