The Parco della Musica Records record “Open On Sunday” bears witness to the great adventure of the Parco della Musica Jazz Orchestra conducted by Maurizio Giammarco. “Open On Sunday” is the successful outcome of four seasons of PMJO performances at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone: two Sunday concerts a month and one evening concert, numerous special projects and original productions in collaboration with international band leaders, to introduce audiences to the classic repertoire from the history of jazz music and some of the best arrangements for Big Band. “Open On Sunday” is a double-disc collection of all original compositions conceived for the orchestra by Maurizio Giammarco, Mario Raffaele Corvini, Raffaele Scoccia, Claudio Cesar Corvini, Giuseppe Iodice, and Gianni Savelli. PMJO has performed over one hundred concerts and more than fifty original projects, collaborating to date with leading artists on the international scene and performing in Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Argentina, and Mexico.
