“On the Way” summarizes the vision in music of a quest through interiority and exteriority: the way of the artist and the man within him. The pieces were born out of the blue as the result of a moment of elaboration and meditation, a spiritual process that from deep within made Rosario Bonaccorso even more aware of the potential of musical expression. “I brought to the recording studio an improvisational approach in which spontaneity, attunement of intent and listening to others prevail. I sought an open dialogue the interchange of roles, respectful of others’ ideas, developed in that moment we call improvisation. It is the instinctive moment of each creation that interests me and that is why all the pieces are first takes: they represent my poetics and my compositional world in that moment of pure instinct.”
