The movement of humankind, in all its vulnerability and in all its strength, “the other” that moves us. All of this is at the heart of the new recording project “Moving People” by composer and double bassist Riccardo Del Fra, who was Chet Baker‘s double bassist for nine years, but has also played with Johnny Griffin, Bob Brookmeyer, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey, Dave Liebman, Kenny Wheeler, and Lee Konitz.
After the warm and sincere tribute to Chet Baker, “My Chet My Song,” the first record released for Parco della Musica Records, Riccardo Del Fra presents a new jazz project, poetic, deep, powerful and delicate at the same time. “Moving People” is a journey through ten original compositions about the desire for a better life, between hope and life force. Del Fra ‘s music as always caresses and excites, his double bass playing with lyricism, embraces with sensuality, and brings the soloists to their fullest glory.
