After “Memories,” Parco della Musica Records releases another work by Roberto Cecchetto, one of the most innovative and original jazz guitarists on the Italian music scene. In “Mantra,” Cecchetto is accompanied by three outstanding jazz musicians, Francesco Bearzatti, Luca Bulgarelli and Ivo Parlati. As Paolo Fresu writes: “There is a freedom that circulates within the group, like a true mantra, as if this is the release of a circular energy that binds the whole work and that cannot remain imprisoned in the digital grooves of a CD but attempts to emotionally overflow outward. For in this “Mantra” there is a catharsis dictated by the simmering of a philosophical and creative (mystical?) thought made of apparent calm and emotional tension.”
