“Lezioni di tenebra,” a chamber opera for soprano, countertenor, vocal quartet and instrumental ensemble, a reduction from Francesco Cavalli ‘s “Giasone” and Giacinto Andrea Cicognini‘s libretto, made its debut at the Konzerthaus in Berlin and in Italy as part of the Fondazione Musica per Roma’s Contemporanea review. The author, Lucia Ronchetti, offers a study of the metaphors of darkness and blindness. A sound theater consisting of highly defined timbral imprints, where the musical organization clarifies the dramatic tensions and the progression of the textual plot, almost replacing the visual aspects: a whole galaxy of characters absorbed and concentrated in the tension of a passionate and dramatic dialogue between two lonely people in a dark room.
