“It Had Better Be Henry Mancini” is Cristiana Polegri and Roberto Spadoni ‘s tribute to the great American composer and conductor famous for composing some of the most beautiful and well-known soundtracks in the history of cinema, in a long career studded with awards. These include such celebrated songs as “Moon River,” “Baby Elephant Walk,” “Peter Gunn,” and the “Pink Panther” theme. Singer and saxophonist Cristiana Polegri and Roberto Spadoni, arranger of all tracks and musical director, reread some of his best-known compositions arranged for a colorful ten-piece jazz ensemble on the album. Embellishing the album are the participation of singer Elio and actor Stefano Fresi as well as trumpeter Giovanni Falzone and saxophonist Maurizio Giammarco.
