Parco della Musica Records presents Silvia Manco’s new jazz album, “HIP! The Blossom Dearie Songbook.” An original recording project dedicated to Blossom Dearie, the most European of pianists/vocalists on the American jazz scene.
The CD, produced by Parco della Musica Records and Jando Music, was made by Silvia Manco in the recording studios of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone with his American trio consisting of Dezron Douglas on double bass and Jerome Jenningson drums and featuring two extraordinary guests: Enrico Rava and Max Ionata.
Silvia Manco pays tribute to a cult artist all to be rediscovered, taking up her legacy and making her own, with a contemporary twist, a timeless repertoire drawn from Blossom Dearie ‘s sought-after “Songbook” and humor-filled compositions by authors such as Bob Dorough and Dave Frishberg.
