Home Productions Grace in Town
Fabrizio Sferra and Costanza Alegiani present “Grace in Town,” a new album released by Parco della Musica Records in collaboration with Jando Music. “Grace in Town” is a project of original songs, born from the meeting between Fabrizio Sferra, composer of the music and here also in the unreleased version of singer, and Costanza Alegiani, singer and author of the lyrics in English. A variety of influences and suggestions can be found in the songs of “Grace in Town,” coming naturally from the layering of experiences and listening accrued by Sferra over the decades (from Italian pop music to songwriting and grand opera, from English progressive rock to American song in its various forms).
The name of the project, “Grace in Town,” which coincides with the title of the debut album, is surely meant to call out an idea of grace and classicism that pervades the compositional and interpretive elements, cast in a context of contemporary sound. In fact, in the songs on the record, Anglo-Saxon rock and more refined pop music marry the expressive character of electronics, developed through extensive pre- and post-production work and sound research. The effect, amplified also by a consistent use of voices, is of choral music, with a strong emotional impact, made with the collaboration of an excellent band, composed of versatile and creative musicians, established protagonists of contemporary jazz music.
