Trumpeter Giovanni Falzone and pianist Glauco Venier bring to life eleven compositions characterized by solid rhythmic and melodic components.
The volcanic trumpeter Giovanni Falzone ‘s new work for Parco della Musica Records features him along with pianist Glauco Venier, a musician already working alongside Kenny Wheeler and Norma Winstone. Underlying the record “Expressive Dialogue,” there was from the very beginning Falzone ‘s desire to photograph this precise moment in his life as a musician. A period in which he felt a strong need to express himself and share the outcomes of his expressive research, which places acoustic sound at the center. The eleven compositions are all strongly characterized by rhythmic and melodic components through which the duo develops the entire sound framework.
Giovanni Falzone is an Italian trumpeter and composer known for his original arrangements and charming personality. He has collaborated with various Italian opera and symphony entities, released no less than sixteen albums under his own name for labels such as Soul Note, Cam Jazz, Parco Della Musica Records, and Abeat, and has numerous collaborations as a side-man. Since 2004 he has devoted himself permanently to jazz music Glauco Venier is one of the leading pianists of the famous ECM label. He debuted as a musician in classical and rock after studying at the conservatory and in America. He has celebrated collaborations with some of the world’s leading jazz figures, including Norma Winstone, and has racked up countless appearances on international stages.
