Home Productions Distilled
After “Red Basics,” with the tightrope walker quintet Acrobats, and after “Maps” with the unusual pianoless quartet Double Cut, saxophonist and composer Tino Tracanna releases “Distilled” with Parco della Musica Records with double bassist Giulio Corini and drummer Vittorio Marinoni. “Distilled” is a concentration of high-purity jazz in pursuit of essentiality and improvisational dialogue.
Eight original compositions by Tino Tracanna plus two reinterpretations: “Lilies of the Valley” by Japanese composer Jun Miyake and “Misterioso” by Thelonious Monk, which has always been one of the group leader’s landmarks. Always attentive to tradition but with a wide openness to experimentation and novelty, the free and inspired dialogue between the jazz musicians elaborates a distillation of their musical experience and poetics.
