Putting his old scores in order, Javier Girotto has rediscovered some music written more than a decade ago and still unreleased: muscular jazz, energetic to the point of paroxysm, passionate and third-world. Surprised by the freshness and timeliness of these notes, he decided to share them with a new generation of musicians, among the most talented in their instrument, presenting it to them as his own artistic legacy. Thus was born the “Legacy” project, a new production by the Fondazione Musica per Roma that will be recorded and released on Parco della Musica Records as part of the Recording Studio event, which allows the public to watch live recordings of the Foundation’s label.
