"Colours" is the fifth album by Cecilia Sanchietti, an Italian drummer and composer based in Sweden and Italy.
“Colours” is the fifth album by Cecilia Sanchietti, an Italian drummer and composer based in Sweden and Italy, and the first to be released on the Parco della Musica Record label in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm and the Embassy of Sweden in Rome. Three singles have been released so far: “Dark Blue,” “Silver,” and “Pink.” The preview tour between October and November 2023 stopped at the Roma Jazz Festival at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The album continues the path begun in the previous work “Postcard from Gamla Stan” released in 2021 with the Cecilia Sanchietti Swedish Quintet, a formation with which the musician aims to create a blend of Scandinavian and Italian music, between contemporary jazz, pop-jazz, with flashes of world music. The new record draws and imagines emotions and moods. Each song is a color, an intimate reflection of one’s own experience that does not need words, in fact it is devoid of them and therefore more true. Music is an opportunity for the listener to mirror himself, an imaginative and identifying opportunity
