Home Productions Argentina. Escenas en Big Band
“Argentina. Escenas en Big Band,” recorded in June 2006 for Parco della Musica Records by Javier Girotto along with the PMJO Park of Music Jazz Orchestra, is a tribute to tango by an Argentine musician living in Rome who has devoted much of his work to the music of his homeland, reinterpreting it in original ways and contributing to its evolution and dissemination.
Javier Girotto‘s compelling compositions, deeply imbued with the folk soul of his beautiful and troubled country, wear a new orchestral guise. A well-calibrated style, centered on classical but rich and relevant arrangements, with ample room for solo interventions by Javier Girotto himself on soprano sax and other musicians in the orchestra. Music that thus ranges from tango to Argentine folklore, mixing with jazz and improvisational moments with a classical flavor.
