The Musical Box, the only band authorized and supported by Genesis and Peter Gabriel, arrives Feb. 28 at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone to present their new show, "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway."
The greatest work created by Genesis (and the last with Peter Gabriel), which marked the end of an era, comes to life on stage one last time-a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to relive the magic of a historic era in a unique experience.
"The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway," released in 1974, is the sixth studio album, the first double and the only concept album. Centered on a story conceived and written by Peter Gabriel (who also authored all song lyrics except the title track written by Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks), it was placed in the ninth position of the 50 best progressive albums by Rolling Stone magazine, in 2015. The Musical Box, the world-famous Canadian band, after the highly successful 2019 tour, will bring the extraordinary world of Genesis to the stage recreating in its uniqueness the original 1974-75 show, whose live success was also marked by the disguises and theatricality of Gabriel, here at the height of his fame. Accompanied by an array of museum-worthy vintage instruments, The Musical Box will bring to life a once-in-a-lifetime live performance, taking fans, from the most nostalgic to the youngest, on a journey through time.
The Musical Box have performed for millions of audiences around the world and have graced the stages of some of the most prestigious venues such as the London Royal Albert Hall and the Olympia in Paris. Acclaimed for their historic re-enactment of early Genesis, cited worldwide for their excellent performances and quest for authenticity, they have the ability to bring to life the magic of the British band's repertoire and costumes with virtuosic performances, special effects and valuable vintage instruments.
