After the success of the Vale la pena Tour that featured them last year in Italian theaters, Inti-Illimani and Giulio Wilson announce a new world tour that will stop May 13 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone for the live presentation of their first album together, "AGUA," recorded in December 2022 between Florence and Santiago, Chile.
This will be an unprecedented musical proposal, in which the sounds of Chilean music will meet the sounds and words of Giulio Wilson, a brilliant singer-songwriter with a refined and demodé style. Jorge Coulón, founding member of Inti-Illimani, speaks with words of pure emotion about the record project and tour, "For us it is always wonderful to return to Italy. Playing with Giulio, a talented songwriter and dear friend, is a way to get closer to our history and to continue to cultivate the passion that binds us to Italy."
"AGUA" will contain 13 tracks in which social issues related to current events, such as environmental advocacy, climate change, as well as history and more, are addressed. An "artisan conception" record without plug-ins, computer effects, where electronic sounds were not contemplated: in fact, the Chilean musicians use traditional instruments of Andean music such as bagpipes, quechua, charango; Giulio Wilson played guitars and piano. A natural artistic balance, empathy and human harmony can be felt in all the tracks on the record.
