Closer On The Other Side
ITALIAN FIRST
in chorealization with Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
A precious diptych inaugurates the Equilibrio 2024 Festival with three evenings of neoclassical choreography by Benjamin Millepied and minimalist music by Philipp Glass, and sees for the first time the Rome Opera House Ballet Corps perform in the halls of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. By Benjamin Millepied, now a leading name on the international scene with choreography commissioned and interpreted by the most prestigious dance companies, will present two different works: "Closer," with a classical framework and a strong modern sensibility, is an airy duet between a man and a woman created in 2006 to the piano score "Mad Rush," and "On the other side," the third chapter of the "Gems" trilogy, a reinterpretation of Balanchine's "Diamonds," created in 2016 and now presented in its Italian premiere in a new version modeled on the performers of the corps de ballet directed by Eleonora Abbagnato.
