Among the most iconic U.S. photographers, in 2009 he began work on his most famous project, Day to Night, in which he portrays natural and urban landscapes by capturing the passage of light throughout an entire day. The project has resonated widely, obtaining several grants from the National Geographic Society, and in 2018 it was also the subject of a solo exhibition dedicated to the artist at the National Geographic Museum. His last project for National Geographic, America the Beautiful, was published in September 2022.
