Paolo Conte was born in Asti. From an early age he began to cultivate what are still his passions today: American jazz and fine arts. He began writing songs in the wake of suggestions absorbed from life, film and literature. In the mid-1960s songs written by him burst into the music charts, including "The Most Beautiful Couple in the World," "Azzurro"(Adriano Celentano), "Insieme a te non ci sto più"(Caterina Caselli) and many others. From 1974 to 2014 he released a series of albums that would establish him as an ambassador of Italian music in the world: "Paolo Conte," "Paris Milonga," "Appunti di viaggio," "Concerti," "Aguaplano," "Paolo Conte Live," "Parole d'amore scritto a macchina," "Novecento," "Tournée," "Una faccia in prestito," "Tournée 2," "Reveries," "Elegia," "Paolo Conte live arena di Verona," "Psyche," "Nelson," "Gong-Oh," and "Snob''. In 2000 he produced "Razmataz," a multimedia work related to the musical of the same name, set in 1920s Paris. In 2016 he released "Amazing Game," his first instrumental record. In the following year he published "Zazzarazàz - Uno Spettacolo D'arte Varia," a project collecting more than forty years of his career with the best of his works and reinterpretations by artists such as Roberto Benigni, Francesco De Gregori, Lucio Dalla and others. In 2018 he celebrated the 50th anniversary of "Azzurro" with a completely sold-out tour and a double album recorded at the Terme di Caracalla in Rome, "Live in Caracalla." In 2021, he released "Live at Venaria Reale," a live album recorded at the prestigious Palace of Venaria Reale. On February 19, 2023, the Maestro will take the stage at La Scala Theater in Milan. The concert sold out within hours of tickets going on sale, marking a historic moment for the theater, which for the first time ever is hosting a living icon of singer-songwriter music with its own repertoire.
