His numerous collaborations, among which we can mention those with Miles Davis, Eric Clapton, George Benson, Aretha Franklin, Brian Ferry, Wayne Shorter, Al Jarreau, Herbie Hancock, and Carlos Santana, to name a few, have made him an icon of world music.
