Raised with Eric Clapton and Michel Jackson, blues purist, Bay burst onto the music scene with the singles "Hold Back The River," which has more than 256 million views on YouTube and 559 million streams on Spotify, and "Let It Go," with more than 394 MILLION views on YouTube and 958 million strem on Spotify, both taken from his 2015 debut album "Chaos And The Calm." Recorded in Nashville, thanks to the album James Bay was nominated for International Newcomer at the ECHO Awards, Best New Act and Best Solo Artist at the Q Awards. In the UK, the record earned the title of Biggest New Artist Album Release and was certified gold in the United States, Germany, Australia, Switzerland; platinum in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden; and double platinum in the UK, selling nearly 3.5 million albums worldwide and garnering 2.7 billion streams worldwide. Returning from his world tour, which took him on stage at such prestigious festivals as Glastonbury, Sumer Sonic, Isle Of Wight, Pinkpop, Coachella, V, and Lollapalooza, Bay was overwhelmed with new ideas and inspirations. New directions he felt he needed to embrace. This is where "Electric Light" was born. Four years later, James Bay is back with a new work, "Leap," released on July 8, 2022. "Leap" is a collection of sincere and hopeful songs dedicated to those closest to him.
