Jacob Collier emerged through a series of viral YouTube videos that caught the attention of Quincy Jones. "In My Room" from 2016, which won 5 GRAMMYs and a Jazz FM Award, Collier sang, played and produced all by himself. And he did it all in his childhood bedroom. "In My Room" has led to collaborations with Herbie Hancock and Hans Zimmer, performances with the likes of Pharrell, a TED Talk, a BBC Proms concert, and more. After releasing that surprising move, he decided he wanted to open the process to the world, to allow the music and musicians who had influenced him to participate in the very songs he wrote. Chris Martin of Coldplay called him the "most talented artist any of us ever dreamed of being-it's like dealing with Mozart or Prince or someone like that."
