He is head of the CONTACT unit - Cognitive Architectures for Collaborative Technologies at IIT, where he works closely with the humanoid iCub. After graduating with a B.S. in Bioengineering and a Ph.D. in Humanoid Technologies, he worked at the Robotics Lab at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and the Emergent Robotics Laboratory at Osaka University. He has received several awards in his career, including being named an Inspiring Fifty in 2018 and the Technovisionarie 2021 award in the Robotics and AI category. In 2022, she was selected among the 40 under 40 by "Fortune Italy."
